The Marks and Spencer store at Bankside in central London has reopened following an 11-week transformation, unveiling a refurbished food hall with a Mai Sushi bar, an expanded bakery, and a wine shop.
New Features at Bankside
The store now includes a coffee-to-go counter for commuters, a Click and Collect service, an expanded home and cosmetics range, and travel money services. The shopping environment spans 7,500 square feet.
The bakery has been expanded by 150 percent compared to its previous size, according to M&S. The sushi bar, named Mai Sushi, offers a premium dining option within the supermarket.
Part of Wider London Revamp
The Bankside transformation is part of a broader M&S refurbishment plan across London. Earlier this year, the retailer announced plans to open four new supermarkets in the capital and refurbish six existing stores, including Bankside.
Two new M&S stores have already opened: one on Mitcham Road in Tooting Broadway and another on Tottenham Court Road. Two more are planned for Sydenham at Bell Green Retail Park and Elephant and Castle at The Elephant Development.
Last year, M&S announced it would open 200 more stores across London, according to a company statement.
