Diversion route confirmed
National Highways has confirmed a diversion route for motorists. A spokesperson stated: "Road users are advised to follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol on road signs." The recommended diversion route is as follows: Exit the M23 southbound at junction 9 onto the Gatwick Spur, then take the second exit to junction 9A. At junction 9A (Airport Way Roundabout), take the second exit towards North Terminal/Redhill. At the next roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A23 London Road towards Crawley/Redhill. At the Longbridge roundabout, take the fourth exit to turn back and join the A23 eastbound. Remain on the A23 for approximately four miles to reach the Tushmore roundabout with the A2011/A2219. Take the first exit onto the A2011 and continue to re-join the M23 at junction 10.
