Peckham is set to welcome a major new addition to its culinary scene, courtesy of one of Europe's most celebrated pizza makers. Andrea Asciuti, the founder behind the acclaimed 081 Pizzeria, will launch Connie's Pizza on 26 January 2026.
What to Expect from the New 'Bri-talian' Pizzeria
The restaurant, located at 133 Queen's Road, SE15 2ND, takes over the site previously home to South African eatery Little Kudu. Asciuti's new venture promises a unique 'Bri-talian' concept, blending Italian pizza-making tradition with high-quality, seasonal British produce.
Expect a menu featuring eight distinct pizzas, where classic techniques meet local flavours. Key offerings will include a tomato and aubergine pizza, a classic margherita made with British mozzarella, and a spicy nduja option paired with British stracciatella. Another standout features sautéed mushrooms, truffle, and basil.
The Signature Style and Supporting Cast
The foundation of Connie's Pizza will be its light and crispy base, designed to pass the coveted 'no-flop' test. This is achieved using American flour and a dough fermented for 36 to 48 hours.
Beyond the pizzas, the menu will be rounded out with a selection of indulgent sides. Diners can look forward to meatballs, deep-fried mac 'n' cheese, and mozzarella sticks. For dessert, there will be just one, carefully curated choice: fiocco di neve – mini brioche buns filled with ricotta and whipped cream.
A Proven Pedigree in Pizza
The launch is highly anticipated, given Asciuti's established reputation. His existing venture, 081 Pizzeria on Peckham Rye (with another site in Shoreditch), was ranked 43rd on the 50 Top Pizza list of the best pizzas in Europe for 2024. Connie's Pizza is a personal project, named after the chef's wife.
This opening solidifies south London's position as a destination for top-tier, innovative dining and offers locals a taste of award-winning pizza craftsmanship right on their doorstep.
