Greene King Gives Away 100,000 Free Pints on May Bank Holiday

Pubs are giving away 100,000 free drinks today, including pints, as part of a special bank holiday promotion. On Monday, May 4, Greene King is offering complimentary beverages across its participating locations nationwide. The initiative, dubbed 'Home At Your Local,' aims to encourage Brits to treat their neighbourhood pub as a second home.

How to Claim Your Free Drink

To claim a free pint, customers simply need to approach the bartender at any participating Greene King pub and utter the two-word password: 'I'm home.' The offer is valid between 11am and 11pm on Monday. A wide selection of drinks is included, ranging from lagers and ales to soft drinks. Notable options include Greene King's Level Head, Greene King IPA, Guinness, Coca-Cola, and Schweppes Lemonade.

Each customer can claim only one free drink, and the offer is available while stocks last. If you are the 100,001st person to attempt the deal, you will need to pay for your drink as usual.

Participating Pubs and Exclusions

A full list of participating Greene King pubs is available online. However, one notable London pub—the Fig Tree in Uxbridge—is excluded from the promotion. Additionally, the offer does not apply to Greene King-owned brands such as Chef & Brewer Collection, Farmhouse Inns, Farmhouse Kitchen, Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, Metropolitan Pub Company, and Crafted Pubs.

Research on Pub Proximity

To coincide with the campaign, new research from Greene King found that two in five Brits (41%) would pay up to 20% more for rent or mortgage just to live near a strong local pub. The study highlights the importance of pub culture in British society.

Extended Offer: Second Home Scheme

The promotion does not end on Monday. Greene King is also launching the 'Second Home' scheme, where customers can nominate their favourite pub to win a year's worth of free beer. Fifty winners will be selected.
