Pan Pacific London Review: A Zen Oasis in the City's Heart
London's Ultimate Staycation at Pan Pacific Hotel

Finding a true sanctuary in the heart of London's bustling financial district might seem improbable, but one hotel on a corner of Liverpool Street is redefining the City staycation. The Pan Pacific London, an Asian-inspired retreat, offers an escape so seamless that one writer declared its Devonshire Suite the best hotel room he's ever experienced.

An Urban Oasis of Calm and Luxury

Liverpool Street is typically a realm of sharp-suited bankers, hurried commuters, and takeaway coffee cups. Yet, nestled on the corner of Bishopsgate, the Pan Pacific London stands as a bastion of tranquillity. From the moment you step inside, the external chaos melts away, replaced by an immediate sense of zen.

The hotel's facilities are exceptional. The gym is notably spacious and well-equipped, far from the afterthought often found in city hotels. However, the undeniable highlight is the 18.5-metre infinity pool, a breathtaking feature that gazes out over the London skyline, offering a swim with a view.

Lavish Accommodation and Prime Location

With 237 rooms across 14 categories, the hotel caters to every need. Options range from Deluxe rooms starting at £485 per night to expansive suites. All feature king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and premium minibars.

For the ultimate indulgence, the newly redesigned suites, including the Walbrook, Bishopsgate, and Devonshire, offer panoramic vistas and luxurious touches. The Devonshire Suite (from £815 per night) particularly impressed, boasting a stylish lounge with a record player, a botanical mural, and a bedroom wrapped in corner windows overlooking landmarks like the Gherkin. A walk-in wardrobe leads to a marble bathroom stocked with Jo Loves toiletries.

Location is a key strength. Situated in the City, guests are surrounded by a mix of skyscrapers and history, with Shoreditch's galleries a short walk away and the West End easily accessible. Despite being central, the area is surprisingly peaceful in the evenings. Liverpool Street Station is just a three-minute walk, putting the entire capital within effortless reach.

Culinary Excellence and Impeccable Service

The hotel's main restaurant, Straits Kitchen, delivers an outstanding culinary journey. The Experience Menu (£59 per person) is highly recommended, showcasing dishes like Cornish crab pappardelle and tender beef short rib. Head Chef Nick Yung adeptly caters to dietary needs.

The Sunday roast presents a clever fusion, with Jimmy Butler's pork belly elevated by a Cantonese char siu sauce. Breakfast is equally impressive, with the full Pan Pacific breakfast (£44) featuring legendary blueberry muffins. For a relaxed vibe, the Ginger Lily Bar & Lounge serves afternoon tea and cocktails.

Service throughout is consistently five-star. Staff are warm, attentive, and full of genuine local recommendations, from nearby bars like The Botanist to strolls in the area, ensuring no request is too much trouble.
