Previously operated by Hall & Woodhouse, The Prince Edward epitomizes the classic London pub experience, featuring inviting leather sofas, low-hanging ceilings, and a Victorian façade that has long welcomed patrons. Currently closed, this beloved local institution has been acquired by the team behind Julie's, a modern French restaurant nestled on Portland Road in Holland Park. Their mission is to revitalize the business while preserving its essence as a warm, characterful neighborhood pub.

Vision and Leadership Behind the Revival

Tara MacBain, owner of Julie's, emphasized their commitment to honoring the pub's legacy. "The Prince Edward already has history, character and a loyal local following. Our role is not to reinvent it beyond recognition, but to restore its heart," she stated. "We want this to be a pub people use constantly—for morning coffee, midweek suppers, Sunday lunch, or a spontaneous glass of wine."

MacBain is joined by key partners from Julie's, including general manager Rupert Walsh and chef patron Owen Kenworthy. Together, they aim to infuse the pub with the same spirit of warmth, personality, and belonging that has made Julie's a beloved fixture in the area.

Chef Owen Kenworthy has crafted a menu that celebrates classic British pub fare with a refined twist, focusing on seasonal British produce. The offerings will include:
