From April Fools' Dream to Sweet Reality

The journey began back in April 2023, when Oreo posted a mocked-up image of Cadbury Creme Egg Oreos for April Fools' Day. The internet reaction was immediate and fervent, with hundreds of commenters pleading for the product to be made real, calling it the "perfect combination" of snacks. Fast forward to December 2025, and the brands, both owned by Mondelez International, have answered those calls.

The new biscuit combines the crunch and rich cocoa taste of an Oreo with the indulgent fondant filling of a Cadbury Creme Egg, complete with an extra layer of the iconic yolk-coloured centre. Given its corporate family ties, the product has been humorously nicknamed 'The Nepo Cookie'.

This isn't the only new product reimagining the classic Creme Egg. Cadbury has also partnered with protein brand Grenade to launch a soft core protein bar. The bar features a centre of ‘fluffy protein dough’ and the signature yellow fondant, all wrapped in milk chocolate.

Grenade claims the bar contains 12 grams of protein and just two grams of sugar, describing it as a ‘true Creme Egg and protein smash-up’ that is ‘smooth, bold and unapologetically indulgent’. They herald it as the first in a new era of soft and satisfying protein bars.
