The Apprentice Winner's Dessert Firm Collapses Owing Six Figures
Apprentice winner's firm Oh So Yum enters liquidation

Former The Apprentice champion Harpreet Kaur has broken her silence after the dessert company that secured Lord Alan Sugar's investment following her 2022 victory collapsed into liquidation.

From Reality TV Success to Business Closure

Oh So Yum entered voluntary liquidation at the end of October 2025, with City AM reporting the company owed a six-figure sum to creditors. The dessert firm had originally secured a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar after Kaur's victory on the popular BBC One show in 2022.

The business timeline shows significant changes in leadership before the eventual collapse. Lord Sugar exited the business in July 2023, while Kaur herself departed in October 2024, leaving her sister Gurvinder Kaur in charge of Oh So Yum's operations.

Kaur's Emotional Response to Liquidation

In her initial statement, Harpreet Kaur emphasised her distance from the company, stating: "I exited the business over a year ago and since then I've had no involvement, control, or communication regarding the company's activities."

However, in a more detailed social media post, the businesswoman expressed her feelings about the company's demise. Kaur revealed she only learned about the liquidation when contacted by City AM for comment, indicating her complete separation from the business since her departure.

"It is of course sad to see the business no longer continue in the way I had once envisioned," Kaur wrote. "Oh So Yum will, however, always hold a special place in my heart. From starting it a decade ago, it was a journey filled with love, ambition, and many business lessons which I will continue sharing with you all."

Looking Toward New Ventures

Despite the disappointment of her previous business's collapse, Kaur hinted at brighter prospects ahead. She told followers about a "really exciting venture" that's close to being officially launched, suggesting she's been working hard in the background over the past year.

In her comprehensive LinkedIn statement, Kaur provided full clarity about her departure timeline and emphasised that she hasn't had access to company strategy, social media, or even her business email address since October 2024.

The entrepreneur expressed pride in what she built with Oh So Yum, noting the joy it brought to many customers and the valuable business lessons she learned throughout the decade-long journey since co-founding the company in 2015.
