HBO Max is making a grand entrance into the UK market with a spectacular free pop-up experience in London's Piccadilly Circus next week. This immersive event, running for two days on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26, marks the streaming service's launch in the UK and Ireland, coinciding with HBO's 50th anniversary in the US.
A Journey Through Iconic TV and Film Worlds
Spanning over 6,500 square feet across two floors at Piccadilly Lights, the HBO Max Experience invites fans aged 16 and older to step into the worlds of beloved shows and movies. Visitors can check in at a replica of the White Lotus reception, explore Carrie Bradshaw's apartment from Sex and the City, and sit in the Iron Throne room from House of the Dragon. The experience also includes sets from The Last of Us, the corridor of Hogwarts from Harry Potter films, and the famous 'pivot!' sofa from Friends.
DC Universe and Special Performances
On another level, DC enthusiasts can immerse themselves in a mock-up of Superman's Fortress of Solitude, complete with dry ice, sound and lighting effects, props, and a 360° projection. In total, 15 TV shows and movies are represented, offering a diverse range of interactive elements. Additionally, Friends fans will enjoy a kitschy bonus: dancers performing the show's theme tune every hour around the orange sofa at Piccadilly fountain.
Practical Details and Ticket Information
Tickets for this exclusive event are free and available through Eventbrite, with limited walk-in slots on the day. Attendees must be 16 or older to book. The pop-up is part of HBO Max's broader strategy to engage audiences as it launches in the UK and Ireland on March 26, bringing content from hits like The Sopranos, The Wire, and Succession to new viewers.
This immersive experience not only celebrates HBO's legacy but also sets the stage for its future in the competitive streaming landscape, offering a unique opportunity for fans to connect with their favorite stories in a tangible way.
