Katie Price's Husband Lee Andrews Reportedly Banned From Leaving Dubai Following Fraud Investigation
Fresh details have emerged about the controversial past of Lee Andrews, the new husband of former glamour model Katie Price, following their surprise wedding in Dubai last week. According to reports, Andrews is currently subject to a travel ban preventing him from leaving the United Arab Emirates due to an ongoing investigation into alleged fraudulent activities.
Dubai Prison Time and Mortgage Fraud Allegations
The Daily Mail reports that Andrews served time in Dubai's Al-Awir central prison last October for suspected fraud. The case centres on allegations that he forged the signature of an ex-girlfriend, personal trainer Dina Taji, to obtain a £200,000 mortgage in her name without her knowledge.
An insider revealed that Taji only discovered the fraudulent activity when the mortgage company contacted her to verify details. "Dina couldn't believe Lee had made financial commitments in her name," the source stated. "He forged her signature to take out the mortgage for AED 1million. She had no idea about it until the bank called her."
After discovering the alleged fraud, Taji reportedly took legal action against Andrews, resulting in the travel ban currently preventing him from leaving Dubai. Under UAE law, individuals facing pending criminal investigations, including those involving unpaid debts or civil lawsuits, are prohibited from exiting the country.
Andrews Denies Travel Restrictions and Financial Issues
In a series of voice notes sent to the Daily Mail, Andrews has denied reports that he is unable to leave Dubai. He claimed there must be "wrong details" circulating about his situation and insisted he faces no travel restrictions.
"I don't know what this is with the debts and lawsuits, and I've got good equity here. But there's no substance," Andrews stated. "My UAE bank account details and latest statement – it far exceeds £200k, so it makes no sense that I would owe that or be on a travel ban for it."
Regarding why he didn't return to the UK with Price immediately after their wedding, Andrews explained he was "house hunting" in Dubai and planned to join her later. However, his promised visit this weekend has not materialised, and social media posts about the planned trip have been deleted.
Former Cellmate and Multiple Ex-Partners Speak Out
A man claiming to have shared a prison cell with Andrews last October has provided disturbing details about his behaviour during incarceration. According to this source, Andrews would "beg his fellow inmates" for money while promising to repay them immediately upon release.
The former cellmate alleges that Andrews eventually borrowed money from his ex-wife to cover the minimum amount required for release, only to discover he faced three additional civil cases that needed resolution before he could leave Dubai. This resulted in a further two weeks of imprisonment.
"Katie Price's wedding is just another of his scams," the former inmate told The Mirror. "All I can say is, I really hope she made him sign a pre-nup." He went on to describe Andrews as a "compulsive liar" and expressed serious doubts about claims on his LinkedIn profile regarding involvement with the Labour Party.
Multiple Women Come Forward With Similar Stories
Several former partners have now spoken out about their experiences with Andrews. Following his relationship with Dina Taji, he reportedly dated Alana Percival, proposing to her just four months ago in the same manner as he did to Price – with a rose petal display at the Jumeirah Burj Al Arab using a repurposed Cartier ring.
Percival has since urged Price to "run for the hills" via Instagram, tagging the reality star and writing: "Women look after women. I thought it was all a lie too until I had to find out the hard way... you want proof of everything, it's waiting for you." She described Andrews as a "lying swindler," "narcissist," and "manipulator."
Another ex-partner, Crystal Janke, claims Andrews conned her out of £123,000 for an investment in his company, promising returns of £1 million that never materialised.
Labour Party and Business Claims Disputed
Further investigation has cast doubt on several professional claims made by Andrews. His LinkedIn profile reportedly states he served on the Board of Advisors for the Labour Party, but a party source has denied any association, telling The Mirror they don't even have such a board.
Similarly, Andrews' claim to be founder of the Royalton hotel chain's Blue Diamond Resorts has been disputed by a company spokesperson, who stated corporate records show no professional affiliation between Andrews and the organisation.
Katie Price's Response and Relationship History
Despite the mounting allegations against her new husband, Katie Price has thus far expressed nothing but positivity about their relationship. After their wedding, she described Andrews as her "Richard Gere" and attributed their union to "fate."
"I'm just so happy with my person that is just as happy as I am," Price stated. "What we have, they haven't even invented the words." She added that Andrews brings out "the best version" of her, which "can only grow more" now they're together.
Andrews becomes Price's fourth husband, following her previous marriages to Peter Andre (2005-2009), Alex Reid (2010-2012), and Kieran Hayler (2013-2021). He also represents her ninth engagement.
The couple reportedly met just one week before their wedding, with Andrews proposing after only two days of knowing each other. Price's children have yet to meet the businessman, who has lived in Dubai for over twenty years and already sports two tattoos of her name.
