As the nail-biting final of the BBC's hit reality show The Traitors approaches, a former contestant has made a dramatic prediction about how the game will end. Wilf Webster, who lost the prize money in the show's first series, believes the current series will see a major betrayal that evens the score for the Traitors.
The Inevitable Backstab
In an exclusive interview with Metro, published on January 19, 2026, Wilf threw his support behind this year's "red-faced successor" Stephen. He praised the current Traitors' turret conclave for playing "a really good team game" and commended Rachel for being an "otherworldly" Traitor who has shielded Stephen from banishment.
However, Wilf believes this alliance is on borrowed time. He predicts the dapper-dressed cybersecurity expert will ultimately plant a dagger in his chum's back to secure victory. "He's such a lovely person and we love him, but I think that's going to be the big shock factor," Wilf revealed.
Rachel's Social Power and Impending Downfall
Wilf, speaking on behalf of Mecca Bingo, expressed astonishment at the game played by Rachel, who has cloaked herself in a powerful "halo effect" to avoid suspicion. "I have never seen somebody with so much social clout and power," he said, noting the shock when her name is revealed on the companion show Uncloaked.
Despite her current dominance, Wilf foresees a turning point. He warns that Rachel will become vulnerable the moment the herd of Faithfuls collectively decides "We have to start looking at everyone." This shift in dynamic, he suggests, could be her ultimate downfall.
A Faithful Wildcard and Wilf's Verdict
Amidst what he describes as a largely "clueless" and "haphazard" Faithful performance, Wilf identified one player with the potential to unmask the Traitors: the sideburn-sporting James. "All we see is James floundering around, running around," Wilf observed. "But I think he's a very intelligent person and some of the things that he says, I like."
Reflecting on the series' new twists—including the secret Traitor, double-vote dagger, and chapel confessional—Wilf stated he wouldn't trade his own experience for a spot on this more complex season. If his prediction about Stephen's potential "Judas move" proves correct, it will add another significant turn to an already dramatic run.
The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Wednesday at 8pm.
