The Traitors Fans Uncover Secret Link Between Faithfuls Ellie and Ross
Traitors Fans Find Secret Link Between Faithfuls

Dedicated fans of the BBC's hit psychological game show The Traitors have once again put their detective skills to the test, unearthing a previously unknown link between two contestants who presented themselves as strangers.

The LinkedIn Evidence

The discovery centres on Faithful players Ellie Buckley and Ross. During the show's premiere on Friday, 2nd January 2026, the pair acted as if they were meeting for the first time on the train to the Scottish castle. However, eagle-eyed viewers on Reddit have presented compelling evidence to the contrary, sourced directly from Ellie's LinkedIn profile.

On the professional networking site, Ross has publicly commented on several of Ellie's career updates with familiar and supportive messages. When Ellie announced she had qualified as a chartered psychologist, Ross wrote: ‘Congratulations! Great work Dr Buckley.’ In response to another post about a promotion, he added: ‘Major achievement Dr Buckley. Incredibly well deserved. Bravo!’ – a comment which Ellie 'liked'.

Fan Theories Run Wild

The online community has been quick to dissect this finding. One Reddit user, @Slowerthanaprop15, joked about their initial encounter, quipping: ‘Their ‘meeting’ on the train was hilariously bad acting.’ Another fan, @Terrible-pedigree, speculated about a wider web of connections, suggesting: ‘We were wondering with the photo of the family tree if they all are linked to someone else…’

This is not the first surprise connection this series. In the first episode, it was revealed that contestant Roxy is the daughter of Judy, the Doncaster child liaison officer who was banished at the inaugural roundtable on Friday night. Furthermore, Ross already had a known link to nursery teacher Netty, who became the first Faithful to be murdered by the Traitors.

What Happens Next?

This revelation is sure to change how viewers interpret every interaction between Ellie and Ross moving forward. With their history now in question, their every move in the castle will be scrutinised for signs of a hidden alliance.

The drama continues with three players – retiree Ben, sweet shop assistant Reece, and civil servant Maz (for the second night running) – facing potential murder on Saturday night. The Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, 3rd January 2026 at 7.45pm.
