Tonight's television schedule offers a festive blend of comedy, romance, and mystery, headlined by the return of Guz Khan in a Christmas-themed comedy caper on BBC One.
Guz Khan's Festive Fiasco in Lapland
At 9pm on BBC One, comedian Guz Khan stars in the comedy Stuffed. He plays Arslan, a family man whose life takes a dramatic turn when he receives an unexpected £8,000 bonus. Faced with a choice between a dull evening or a dream trip, the family opts for a holiday in Lapland.
However, their plans quickly unravel due to a costly clerical error. It is revealed that an administrative mistake added a zero to the bonus, inflating it to £80,000, and Arslan's employer now demands the money back. The episode also features a lovely performance from Sue Johnston as widow Lily, who becomes an unlikely friend to the family during their stressful adventure. Morgana Robinson co-stars as Arslan's wife in this high-stakes festive farce.
A Packed Evening of Festive Specials
The evening's entertainment begins earlier on BBC One at 8pm with Inside the Christmas Factory With Paddy and Cherry. Presenters Paddy McGuinness and Cherry Healey visit the Original Biscuit Bakers factory in Market Drayton, which produces a staggering 100,000 gingerbread biscuits every week in the lead-up to Christmas, getting hands-on with spiced dough and festive icing.
Over on Channel 5 at 8pm, Sally Lindsay returns for The Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas Special. Her antique dealer character, Jean, attends an exclusive event at the Musée de Sainte Victoire in France, where she discovers an ormolu box once owned by Marie Antoinette. The find turns deadly when opening the box triggers a bomb, trapping Jean and others inside.
Channel 4 at 9pm broadcasts a festive edition of First Dates at Christmas. The episode hopes to spark some seasonal romance, featuring hopefuls like Wes, an Essex barber seeking matching 'banter', and 75-year-old retired nurse Linda, who is embarking on her first date in 16 years.
Drama and Comedy to Round Off the Night
For drama fans, U&Alibi at 9pm continues the third season of the atmospheric crime series Dark Winds. Executive produced by Robert Redford and set in the 1970s Navajo Nation, the episode follows Lieutenant Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) as his murder investigation progresses, despite interference from FBI agent Washington (Jenna Elfman).
The night concludes with laughter on BBC Two at 9.45pm with a Live at the Apollo Christmas Special. Hosted by Josh Widdicombe, the show features stand-up from Harriet Kemsley, hailed as one of 2025's most exciting comedy voices, and Andrew Mensah.
In live sport, the EFL Cup quarter-final between Arsenal and Crystal Palace kicks off at 7.30pm on Sky Sports Main Event, broadcast live from the Emirates Stadium.
