Fan Reactions and Historical Context

Following the announcement, fans erupted with enthusiasm on social media. One user declared the lineup “insanely good,” while others praised it as “pretty iconic” and expressed eagerness to attend. Previous headliners have included Mika, Girls Aloud, Paloma Faith, Sugababes, and Mariah Carey, with Alexandra Burke as the first official headliner in 2012.

Brighton and Hove Pride traces its origins to a gay demonstration in 1972, evolving into a full march the following year. The contemporary Pride festival launched in 1991 and has grown exponentially, now attracting over 500,000 attendees annually. As the event celebrates its 35th anniversary, it continues to champion inclusivity, unity, and pride through music and community engagement.

Kemp added, “As we proudly celebrate 35 years of Brighton & Hove Pride, we look ahead to an unforgettable weekend that honours the power of love in all its forms. This year promises to be truly momentous—a joyous celebration of inclusivity, unity, and pride.”
