Most roads within the Square Mile will be closed from approximately 7:00 am, with closures in the Bank area starting as early as 5:00 am and on Princes Street from midnight. The extensive closure zone stretches from Kingsway to Bishopsgate and from the River Thames up to Holborn. All traffic, including buses, will be prohibited from entering the area until at least 4:00 pm.
For those planning to attend, the weather looks promising. The Met Office forecasts a mild day with highs of 15°C and sunny intervals throughout the parade. There is very little chance of rain, and light winds of around 6mph should make for comfortable viewing conditions.
This historic event, which dates back to 1215, continues to be a vibrant display of London's unique traditions, and this year's celebration of the first Lady Mayor promises to be an unforgettable chapter in its 800-year history.
