Adam Peaty Changes Name to Ramsay Peaty Amid Family Feud, Mirroring Brooklyn Beckham
Adam Peaty changes name after wedding to Holly Ramsay

Olympic champion Adam Peaty has officially changed his name on social media following his wedding to Holly Ramsay, a move that comes amidst a very public and bitter falling out with his own family.

A New Surname and a Growing Rift

The 31-year-old swimmer, who married the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey, has updated his Instagram profile to proudly display the new double-barrelled surname Ramsay Peaty. The change mirrors the decision of Brooklyn Beckham, who took his wife Nicola Peltz's surname amid his own alleged estrangement from the Beckham family.

This symbolic gesture follows reports of a major feud between Peaty and his mother, Caroline, who was reportedly 'banned' from attending the wedding. A family member claimed to The Sun that Caroline was 'heartbroken' and that Adam had treated her 'appallingly', suggesting the swimmer had been changed by 'money, fame and fortune'.

Tensions Boil Over Before the Big Day

The conflict appears to have been simmering in the lead-up to the December 2025 wedding. Caroline Peaty confirmed she would not attempt to gatecrash the ceremony, but tensions were reportedly exacerbated by the scale and cost of the celebrations, including Holly's hen do at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.

Peaty later issued a statement addressing the situation, saying: 'Over the past few days, a lot has been reported and comments posted about the private life of Holly and myself. My sister Bethany, has also been targeted. This has been almost entirely one-sided and, in many cases, excessive and intrusive. What makes it worse is that it has been encouraged by members of my family.'

New Family, New Support

While relations with his birth family have deteriorated, Peaty has credited his new father-in-law, Gordon Ramsay, with providing crucial support. He stated the chef helped him escape 'three years of hell' struggling with alcoholism, and was also there for him after his split from the mother of his son, Eirianedd Munro.

During his wedding speech, Gordon Ramsay made a not-so-subtle dig at the ongoing family tensions, reportedly assuring that his wife Tana 'will be a good mum to them both'.

Adam and Holly, 25, first met in 2021 when he competed on Strictly Come Dancing with her younger sister, Matilda, but their romance did not blossom until 2023. Speaking of his new wife, Peaty told The Sunday Times she had been 'pinnacle to this moment in my life where I can have peace'.
