Adam Peaty's Family 'Give Up Hope' on Reconciliation After Wedding Snub
Adam Peaty's family 'dash hopes' of reunion after wedding

Olympic champion Adam Peaty's family have reportedly abandoned all hope of reconciling with the swimmer following a dramatic fallout that saw his parents banned from his high-profile wedding to Holly Ramsay.

The Wedding Snub That Deepened the Rift

The 30-year-old gold medallist married Holly Ramsay, 25, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, in a ceremony at Bath Abbey at the end of 2025. However, the joyous occasion was overshadowed by a significant family dispute. Peaty's mother, Caroline, and father, Mark, were reportedly barred from attending the nuptials.

Ultimately, the only member of Adam's family thought to be present was his sister. The wedding photos, which were later featured in a major Vogue spread, showed the happy couple posing with the Ramsay family and friends, including David and Victoria Beckham.

A source close to the Peaty family told The Sun: "It's been a really emotional time for them as a family. They're coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side. It's dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future." The insider added that the family believes Adam has "made his choice" and they are now trying to move on quietly.

Salt in the Wound: A Painful Photograph

The hurt was reportedly compounded when a close family member received an email containing a photograph from the wedding day. A source explained to the Daily Mail the distress this caused: "When the picture pinged into a close family member's inbox we were honestly shocked. Why would someone send us a photo from a wedding we were all banned from?"

The source questioned whether the act was an error or malicious, stating it caused "unnecessary anguish and distress". They noted the image highlighted their absence, showing "the bride and groom with just her parents and their best friends... posing where Caroline and Mark should be!"

Roots of the Family Feud

The tensions are said to have escalated earlier in 2025 after Holly hosted her hen do at Soho Farmhouse. The event was attended by Victoria Beckham, Holly's mother Tana Ramsay, and Adam's sister, but notably not by his mother Caroline.

Following this, other family members publicly criticised the couple. Adam's aunt, Louise, claimed Caroline had been "broken" by her son and his then-fiancée, alleging Adam was "ashamed" of his brothers. Some relatives went as far as to label him a "narcissist" changed by money and fame.

One family member told The Sun: "Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from." They described feeling excluded by the lavish wedding plans, which included country house venues they could not afford.

The situation intensified when Adam's brother, James, was arrested on suspicion of harassment upon Adam's return from his stag do in Budapest. Police confirmed a 34-year-old man was released on conditional bail.

In a statement addressing the family tension, Adam Peaty said the reporting had been "excessive and intrusive" and was "encouraged by members of my family". He cited an active police inquiry into "serious matters that arose long before recent events" as preventing him from providing full details.

With the family now reportedly accepting the rift, the hope for an immediate reconciliation appears to be extinguished, leaving a celebrated athlete's personal life at the centre of a very public and painful divide.
