Brooklyn Beckham's Christmas Snub: Spends Day with Tennis Star Amid Family Feud
Brooklyn Beckham's Christmas snub amid family feud

Brooklyn Beckham has chosen to spend Christmas Day with a sporting star away from his famous family, further fuelling reports of a deep-seated rift. The 26-year-old appears to have made a pointed statement by celebrating the festive season with American tennis professional Reilly Opelka, 28, in Los Angeles.

A Festive Snub and Social Media Blockade

This move comes directly after it was revealed that Brooklyn had blocked his immediate family on Instagram, including his parents David and Victoria and his brothers. The alleged feud has been simmering for months, dashing hopes of a Christmas reconciliation.

On Christmas Day, Brooklyn shared a social media story of himself playing tennis on a Los Angeles court with Opelka and his wife Nicola Peltz's brother, Bradley. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Victoria and Sir David Beckham posted traditional family pictures with their other children—Cruz, Romeo, and Harper—on their own Instagram accounts.

Family Reactions and Pointed Lyrics

The situation escalated when Brooklyn's brother, Cruz, addressed the blocking rumours head-on. He stated categorically that claims their parents had unfollowed Brooklyn were "NOT TRUE". "My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I," he wrote.

Seemingly in response, Brooklyn posted a slow-motion video of himself walking down a street. The clip was set to Lady Gaga's song 'Telephone', with the pointed lyrics "Sorry, I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy" highlighted on screen. The video was an advertisement for his sauce company, Cloud23—named for his father's old Real Madrid jersey number.

An Ongoing Rift and a Desire for Distance

Tensions within the Beckham family have been widely reported throughout the year. Brooklyn notably missed his father's knighthong ceremony and 50th birthday celebrations. Before his tennis match, he posted a photo holding hands with his wife Nicola, calling her his "everything".

A source told Metro.co.uk that Victoria had liked one of Brooklyn's cooking posts just days before being blocked, intending only to show she was thinking of him before Christmas. "She had no idea it would lead to this fallout," the source said, adding that the entire family is hurt and confused by Brooklyn's decision to cut them out online.

While Brooklyn has not spoken publicly about the discord, reports suggest he wishes to be "left alone" with his wife as they build their new life in the United States. The Christmas Day activities have only served to underscore the apparent distance between the eldest Beckham son and the rest of his family.
