Timothee Chalamet Ends EsDeeKid Rumours With 'Biggest Collab of Century'
Chalamet Silences EsDeeKid Rumours With Rap Collab

Hollywood star Timothee Chalamet has made a dramatic move to quash persistent online rumours that he is the secret identity of mysterious Liverpool-based rapper EsDeeKid. The actor, 29, surprise-released a collaborative remix of EsDeeKid's track '4 Raws', complete with a new music video, on December 19, 2025.

The Collaboration That Set the Internet Alight

In the video, shared via Instagram, Chalamet initially appears dressed in the rapper's signature all-black, balaclava-concealing attire. He then dramatically removes the mask and hood, revealing his new buzzcut hairstyle. The 'Dune' and 'Wonka' star delivers his own rap verses, which include playful brags about his career and a nod to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.

His lyrics reference 'model b***hes in Peckham' and claim 'My life is an opera, look at the Oscars'. He also makes a less-than-subtle reference to Jenner, 28, rapping about a girl who has got 'billions'. The track heavily promotes his latest film role, repeatedly name-checking 'Marty Supreme' – a character recently labelled 'one of the most offensive in cinema' by a Metro film critic.

Why Did the Rumours Start?

Speculation linking Chalamet to the Scouse rapper has simmered for months. EsDeeKid, who never shows his face and sports a thick Liverpool accent, burst onto the scene in 2023. His hit 'Phantom' now boasts over 90 million streams, and he has more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Fans noted striking similarities, including an uncanny resemblance in their eyes and shared clothing items, like a distinctive scarf. The theory was fuelled by Chalamet's known history as a teenage rapper called 'Lil Timmy Tim' during his time at New York's LaGuardia High School.

Earlier in December, when asked about the rumours, Chalamet had teasingly said he had 'no comment' but promised 'All will be revealed'. The new collaboration appears to be that revelation.

Fan Reaction and Lingering Doubts

The internet erupted following the drop. Studio A24 commented cryptically 'all is revealed', while influencer JoyBoy declared it 'the biggest collab of the century'. Many praised Chalamet's rap skills, with one fan joking it was 'about to go triple platinum in my house'.

However, not everyone is convinced the video proves the two are separate people. Some sceptics, like TikTok user Sofia Bella, suggested it could be an elaborate ruse, asking: 'You can’t tell me he’s not him, just having someone cover up so it looks like two people?'

A significant piece of evidence against the theory is a scheduling conflict. On October 9, EsDeeKid performed in Milan while Timothee Chalamet attended a screening for 'Marty Supreme' in New York—a distance of roughly 4,000 miles, making it logistically implausible for one person to be in both places.

Whether the collaboration fully silences the conspiracy or simply adds another layer to it remains to be seen. For now, Timothee Chalamet has taken a definitive, and wildly entertaining, step to address the rumours head-on.
