Coronation Street Christmas Day shock: Two brutal attacks linked to Driscoll family
Corrie confirms two Christmas Day attacks in explosive plot

In an explosive festive twist, Coronation Street has confirmed not one, but two shocking attacks will rock Weatherfield on Christmas Day, with both victims linked to the turbulent Driscoll family.

Double Trouble on the Cobbles

While one attack might be expected in the world of soap operas, a double assault promises an exceptionally dramatic Christmas. Show producers have revealed that one unlucky resident will be beaten and left for dead in a ginnel, while another will suffer a horrific beating. The common thread tying both violent incidents together is the recently arrived Driscoll clan.

The family, who arrived on the cobbles earlier this year, brought a familiar face back to the street: Eva Price, played by actress Catherine Tyldesley. Eva returned with her disarmingly charming fiancé, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), and his two sons, Ollie and Will, to run the Rovers Return Inn.

Family Tensions Reach Boiling Point

Actress Catherine Tyldesley has provided insight into the chaotic Christmas Day events. "It's a big shock," she confessed. "Christmas is supposed to be that time where seemingly everyone gets on... but it's not like that in Weatherfield on Christmas Day!"

The central conflict stems from Eva's fraught relationship with her formidable mother-in-law and co-landlady, Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn). Tyldesley describes their dynamic as reaching "boiling point" on the festive day. "Maggie's just constantly hurling things at Eva, and she hurls something really big at Eva on Christmas Day, and everything just kind of explodes," the actress revealed.

This animosity is compounded by a major secret Eva is keeping from Ben. "This was the one thing that she's found really difficult," Tyldesley explained, noting Eva's actions were intended to protect Ben from hurt. "All that comes out on Christmas Day."

A Secret Letter and Explosive Consequences

In true soap fashion, Eva doesn't keep this secret to herself. She confides in Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who suggests she write her feelings down in a letter. "Eva pours all these feelings out," said Tyldesley, describing the act as therapeutic. However, the decision quickly backfires. "I think what she probably should have done is burnt the letter after writing it," the actress mused. "But you live and learn!"

The special episode follows a recent instalment focusing on Maggie's birthday, which showcased the drastic lengths she will go to protect her family. With two attacks set to unfold and a devastating secret poised to be exposed, Coronation Street promises a Christmas in Weatherfield that residents will never forget.
