From Engagement to Kidnapping: A Turbulent Journey
The couple's engagement, which followed several false starts, seemed to promise a happy future on the Weatherfield cobbles. However, their plans were spectacularly derailed when Becky, played by Amy Cudden, returned from the dead, revealing herself to be alive and deeply involved in criminal activity.
When Becky's attempts to win Lisa back through manipulation failed, she identified Carla as the main obstacle to reuniting her family. In a classic soap twist, Becky resorted to kidnapping Carla at Christmas, holding her captive to prevent her from exposing the truth.
While Carla was imprisoned, Becky focused her efforts on convincing Lisa to leave the country with her and their daughter, Betsy (Sydney Martin). The plan was thwarted by Lisa's colleague, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), who suspected Becky's involvement in Carla's disappearance.
