Denise Richards has made her first public appearance since revealing the dramatic results of a recent facelift procedure. The 55-year-old actress, best known for her role in the James Bond film "The World Is Not Enough," stepped out at the launch event for the official app of the long-running US soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful." The event took place on Thursday evening at the Wheelhouse venue in West Hollywood, California.
A Radiant Appearance in Pink Lace
Richards looked radiant and confident as she arrived at the high-profile Hollywood gathering. She chose a sophisticated pale pink lace dress for the occasion, which she paired with her signature long blonde hair worn loose and flowing down her back. The actress completed her elegant look with a matching slick of pink lip gloss, creating a cohesive and polished appearance that drew attention from photographers and attendees alike.
Public Revelation Through Social Media
Earlier this month, Richards took to Instagram to publicly reveal her facelift results in a joint post with her plastic surgeon. The post featured a side-by-side comparison showing her appearance before the procedure alongside her current look. Richards played the character Shauna Fulton on "The Bold and the Beautiful" from 2019 until 2022, making her appearance at the soap's app launch particularly meaningful.
Personal Reasons Behind the Procedure
In a recent interview with Allure Magazine, the "Wild Things" actress opened up about her decision to undergo the facelift eight months ago. "I wanted to put things back up, where they were before," Richards explained candidly. "I was terrified. Being in the public eye since my 20s, people know what I look like — a facelift is not something I could hide."
She described the transformation as dramatic, stating, "It is night and day. It's shocking, actually." However, Richards revealed that her decision faced opposition from her two eldest daughters, Sami, 22, and Lola, 20, from her marriage to actor Charlie Sheen.
Family Concerns and Support
"My oldest daughters were not happy that I was doing it," Richards shared. "But I think now they understand, and they see that I still look like me. I think they were just worried, in general, of [me] having surgery. They were telling me I didn't need it. I was too young."
The actress emphasized the importance of family support despite differing opinions, explaining, "I told them that this is something I want to do, and you may not agree with my decision, but I just want your support."
Divorce and Personal Transformation
A source close to Richards told the Daily Mail that the actress's decision to undergo the facelift was partly motivated by her desire to "do something for herself" following her split from husband Aaron Phypers. "The divorce has really taken a toll on her in so many ways, emotionally and financially," the source revealed. "She deserves to have a little joy in her life and her new face makes her very happy."
Legal and Financial Implications
Richards married Phypers, known for his role in "Leap," in 2018 after approximately one year of dating. However, the marriage ended when Phypers filed for divorce in July 2025, citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce proceedings have resulted in significant financial obligations for Richards.
According to court documents, Richards has been ordered to pay Phypers $5,000 (approximately £3,735) per month in temporary spousal support. Additionally, she must contribute $30,000 (around £22,410) toward his legal fees associated with the divorce proceedings.
Previous Legal Actions
The actress, who appeared alongside her husband in the reality television series "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers last year. Richards alleged that he was repeatedly violent during their marriage, accusations that Phypers has consistently denied.
Richards's public appearance marks a significant moment in her personal and professional journey, combining her career resurgence with personal transformation following a challenging period in her personal life.
