First Dates shock: Woman tells date she boiled a sheep skull she found
First Dates: Woman admits boiling sheep skull on second date

A second date on the new series of First Dates: Beach Club took a bizarre turn when a contestant revealed her unusual passion for taxidermy, involving a sheep's skull she found and boiled.

An Unsettling Lunchtime Confession

The incident occurred during Wednesday night's episode of the Channel 4 reality show, which aired on December 18, 2025. The Mediterranean spin-off, set in sunny Spain and once again hosted by maître d' Fred Sirieix, saw 25-year-old Elle on a double date with 28-year-old Charlie, alongside another couple, Darren and Jessie.

Over lunch, Elle from Scotland began discussing her interests. She explained her love for taxidermy before recounting a specific story. "Not long ago, there was a sheep that died in the field up behind mine, and I went and got the skull and boiled it," she told the group.

In a later aside to the camera, Elle elaborated on her macabre hobby. "Quite morbid things I'm into. It's probably quite unsettling to people, but that's just me," she said. "I like the idea of taking something dead and kind of bringing it back to life a little bit. It's quite a beautiful thing, I think."

Champagne Spit-Takes and Human Skull Dreams

Her date's companions, Darren and Jessie, were so shocked they performed a classic spit-take with their champagne before bursting into laughter. Unfazed, Elle continued, revealing an even more startling ambition. She mentioned attending a tattoo convention where human skulls were for sale, adding, "I would love one of those."

Jessie quickly retorted, "Did the humans give their consent?" highlighting the ethical quandary. Despite the awkward moment, Elle later stated this was "probably the nicest second date she'd ever been on," though she admitted she wasn't sure she'd ever been on a proper second date before. Charlie seemed a potential match, agreeing he rarely made it to second dates either.

First Dates' History of Unconventional Moments

This is not the first time First Dates has delivered jaw-dropping moments. Earlier in 2025, viewers were stunned when a contestant, Sophie, revealed her husband was waiting at the bar to meet her female date, Emily. This led to the show's first-ever throuple date as the trio explored polyamory.

The new Beach Club season promises more unpredictable encounters as singles seek romance under the Spanish sun. First Dates Beach Club continues to air on Channel 4 at 9pm.
