Woman claiming to be Miley Cyrus's 'real mother' plans new DNA test lawsuit
Miley Cyrus 'real mother' plans new DNA test lawsuit

A woman who claims to be the biological mother of pop star Miley Cyrus has announced plans to file a new lawsuit in a bid to secure a court-ordered DNA test, following the dismissal of her previous legal actions.

Allegations of Trafficking and a Secret Adoption

Jaymee Lee, 45, alleges she became pregnant with the singer after being sex trafficked as a child in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She claims she was just 12 years old at the time of the conception. In a recent interview, Lee stated she never intended to involve Miley Cyrus directly, but sees the singer as "the evidence I have to show that I was sex trafficked and had a baby because of it."

Now a speech therapist living in Peoria, Arizona, Lee claims she was trafficked by a local gang with cartel ties. She says she attempted to run away multiple times during her pregnancy, including to her grandparents' home in California.

A Disputed Name and Celebrity Connections

Lee provides a poignant, yet contested, origin story for the star's name. She told the Daily Mail she chose the name Miley "because of all the miles I had traveled [while being trafficked]. I wanted a name that was one of a kind that could be linked back to me, specifically."

This conflicts with the Cyrus family's account that Miley was born Destiny Hope Cyrus and earned the nickname 'Smiley', later shortened to Miley. Lee further claims she approached several high-profile figures hoping they would adopt her unborn child, including Julia Roberts, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, and Hillary Clinton.

She alleges she was ultimately connected to Billy Ray Cyrus by Dolly Parton, who is now Miley's godmother. Lee's lawsuit claims she and Billy Ray agreed to an open adoption where she could act as nanny and piano teacher, but that he later reneged, preventing her from having contact.

Legal Battles and a Fresh Case

Lee has already filed multiple lawsuits against Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, which have been dismissed. In one instance, a judge in Davidson County, Tennessee, ordered her to pay $7,500 in legal fees to Billy Ray Cyrus in December 2025. The singer's father has denied all claims, labelling them "false and absurd" and accusing Lee of harassment.

Undeterred, Lee now plans to lodge a fresh case in a family court in Malibu, California, where Miley Cyrus resides. "I would ask Miley to do a DNA test to get the truth to show that I am her birth mom," Lee stated. "I understand that I’m biologically her mom. Does it mean that now I’m her mom? I’m not."

She insists she does not seek to disrupt Miley's relationship with Tish Cyrus, stating she only wants "something beautiful and good and pure" for the singer.

Triggered Memories and a Plea for Awareness

Lee says she had buried her trauma for years until a move back to Ruidoso triggered flashbacks. After allegedly remembering, she reached out to Miley Cyrus through lawyers but received no response. She also claims to have reported her trafficking history to police but felt no one took it seriously.

Acknowledging her story "does seem weird," Lee said she hopes it serves as a learning experience, highlighting that it is possible to "block out being raped and having a baby and remember it later." She concluded with a message of support for others: "It happens, it can happen, it does happen. If it’s happening to you, you’re not alone."

Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus share three children together: Miley, 33, Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. He also adopted Tish's two older children from a previous marriage. Representatives for Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, as well as the Kardashians and Sharon Osbourne mentioned in Lee's account, were contacted for comment by Metro.co.uk.
