Peter Andre Voices Concern Over Katie Price's Latest Marriage
Australian pop star Peter Andre has broken his silence regarding his ex-wife Katie Price's recent whirlwind marriage to Lee Andrews, posing a pointed question about her genuine happiness. The former couple, who were married from 2005 to 2009 and share two children, have had a tumultuous relationship for nearly two decades, but Andre's latest comments reflect a more measured approach.
A Rapid Romance Sparks Public Concern
Katie Price, the 47-year-old former glamour model, shocked fans earlier this year by getting engaged to self-proclaimed businessman Lee Andrews, 42, just two days after meeting him in Dubai. The couple tied the knot that same week, marking Price's fourth marriage and ninth engagement. This rapid development raised eyebrows, especially as none of Price's loved ones, including her children, had met Andrews prior to the wedding.
Peter Andre, now 53 and married to NHS doctor Emily MacDonagh since 2015, was recently asked by The Sun for his thoughts on Price's new husband. In response, Andre stated: "So my thing to Kate is, 'Are you genuinely happy?' And if you are, then that's great." He emphasized his reluctance to judge, adding: "Who am I to tell someone what they should or shouldn't be doing, or even giving an opinion about it? I want her to be happy."
A Truce and Tentative Reconciliation
Andre's comments follow a joint statement released in February, where both he and Price declared a truce and committed to moving forward positively. The statement, posted to their Instagram Stories, read: "Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect. We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children."
The statement continued, highlighting their mutual agreement to avoid negative comments about each other and to stand united for their children. This newfound amicability appears to be progressing, with Andre even speaking to Andrews over FaceTime recently. Price revealed last month that during a call with their daughter Princess, she put Andrews on the phone with Andre, marking the first time they had seen each other in nine years.
Turbulence in Price's Latest Marriage
Despite Price's insistence that she is happy, her marriage to Andrews has faced significant scrutiny and challenges. Andrews' career and claimed multi-millionaire status have been questioned, with ex-girlfriends accusing him of conning them—allegations he has vehemently denied. Additionally, Andrews is reportedly stuck in Dubai following a jail stint for alleged fraud, preventing him from leaving the country and requiring Price to frequently fly out to see him.
Price's teenage children learned of her engagement via a WhatsApp message, with Princess describing it as "impulsive on a whole other level." However, Price remains defiant, sporting matching tattoos with Andrews and firing back at his "jealous" and "bitter" exes. She has also declared plans to one day have a baby with him.
Price Defends Her Choices
In a recent YouTube video, Price addressed critics while packing for another trip to the United Arab Emirates. She asserted: "I'm a grown a**e woman. I'm 48 this year. I'm not a young kid. I've learned a lot in the past few years, through therapy and learning to love myself. So I'm not stupid; I know what I'm doing, and if I'm happy, that's all that matters."
As this high-profile saga continues to unfold, the focus remains on whether Price's latest marriage will bring the happiness she seeks, with Andre's question echoing the concerns of many observers.
