CCTV Footage Reveals Towie Star's Final Hours Before Tragic Death in Thailand
Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged showing the final known movements of The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Wright before his body was discovered in Thailand. The 33-year-old reality television personality, who previously dated celebrity Vicky Pattison, was found deceased in a drainage canal on a construction site in Phuket.
Erratic Behavior Captured on Hotel Security Cameras
The newly released black-and-white video was recorded shortly before midnight on March 12 within the grounds of Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao Beach, where Wright had been staying in a room costing approximately £23 per night. In the footage, Wright is seen running erratically while repeatedly checking over his shoulder, appearing as though he believed he was being pursued.
At one point in the video, Wright grabs onto a parked white Toyota pickup truck to steady himself before disappearing around a corner and out of the camera's view. A person sitting nearby on a motorbike appears preoccupied with their phone and does not acknowledge Wright's presence or unusual behavior.
Discovery and Ongoing Investigation
Two days after the CCTV was recorded, Wright's body was discovered by a Myanmar construction worker in a drainage canal approximately 300 meters from his hotel room. He was found face down and fully clothed in stagnant water. Notably, there were no security cameras in the wasteland area where his body was located.
Wright had been scheduled to check out of the hotel on March 13, but staff were unable to contact him. Thai police are now investigating whether Wright was fleeing from someone in the footage and are reviewing additional CCTV recordings to trace his movements earlier that evening.
Police Statements and Uncertain Circumstances
Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale police station stated: "The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved." Authorities are currently awaiting an autopsy report from Vachira Phuket Hospital to help determine the exact cause of death.
Wright had traveled to Thailand in December on a digital nomad visa and had recently posted positively about his experience in Phuket on Instagram, sharing pictures with the caption: "I'm home... ft the best bath I've ever taken."
Background of the Deceased Media Personality
The Essex-based media personality appeared on eight episodes of MTV's Ex On The Beach in 2017 and seventeen episodes of Towie in 2018. Beyond his television career, Wright had worked across various fields including fire services, financial investment, and professional DJing.
This tragic incident has raised numerous questions about Wright's final hours and the circumstances surrounding his untimely death in Thailand at age 33.
