The Duck and Waffle, a renowned London restaurant open 24/7, recently received a visit from food blogger Gary Hanna at 1am. He summed up the experience in three words: 'an amazing experience'.
A Unique Dining Experience
Located near Liverpool Street Station, the Duck and Waffle was once the highest restaurant in the UK, sitting on the 40th floor of 100 Bishopsgate. Despite his fear of heights, Gary Hanna decided to visit at 1am to try the signature dish.
The Signature Dish
The dish consists of crispy duck and a duck egg on a waffle, served with maple syrup. Hanna admitted it was an 'incredibly strange combination' but was surprised to find it 'actually works'. He praised the tender duck and the rich duck egg, saying, 'I really like it here.'
Memorable Atmosphere
While he enjoyed the food, Hanna emphasized that the experience was about more than just the meal. 'I think the food was quite good but it's all about the view,' he said. He called it an experience he will remember 'for the rest of his life'.
Value for Money
Despite loving the experience, Hanna conceded that the restaurant is a little overpriced. However, he noted that patrons are paying 'premium prices' for an unforgettable experience. He observed that the restaurant was getting busier at 2am with a diverse crowd.
Other Menu Items
In addition to the signature dish, Hanna was impressed by the starter (crispy duck ears) and dessert (lemon meringue tart). He awarded the Duck and Waffle an excellent 8.5 or nine out of 10, calling it a restaurant he will 'never forget'.
