Bébé Bob Closes: Soho's Romantic Restaurant Shutters

Bébé Bob Restaurant in Soho Closes Its Doors

One of London's most romantic dining destinations has unexpectedly closed. Bébé Bob, the Soho rotisserie chicken restaurant that operated as a spin-off from the nearby Bob Bob Ricard establishment, has shuttered its Golden Square location. Though no official announcement has been made by the restaurant's management, the closure appears permanent based on current conditions at the site.

A Romantic Dining Destination

The restaurant had previously earned a prestigious spot on Time Out's list of the most romantic restaurants in London, making its sudden closure particularly noteworthy for London's dining community. Bébé Bob specialized in an upscale chicken-focused menu that featured caviar, cocktails, and champagne alongside their signature rotisserie chicken.

Time Out's four-star review praised the establishment for its "excellently-done rotisserie chicken with a series of vintage sides." The review also highlighted the glamorous interior design, describing "dangerously low-slung velvet seating, black marble tables and what feels like a 1970s conversation pit; all brown curved leather and boasting a camp-y Playboy mansion energy."

Culinary and Mixology Excellence

Bébé Bob opened in 2023 and quickly established itself as more than just a restaurant. The venue featured a stand-alone bar that appeared on multiple Time Out lists, including the best bars in London and the best bars in Soho specifically. The cocktail program was developed by celebrity mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana, known professionally as Mr Lyan.

The innovative drink menu included a chicken bone negroni infused with roasted chicken bone from the restaurant's rotisserie and a "Frites Royal" cocktail featuring liqueur de pommes frites and Moët & Chandon Champagne. These creative offerings demonstrated the establishment's commitment to pushing culinary boundaries while maintaining luxury dining standards.

Bob Bob Ricard Legacy Continues

While Bébé Bob has closed, the original Bob Bob Ricard restaurants continue operating. The Soho branch of Bob Bob Ricard remains open, as does Bob Bob Ricard City on Leadenhall Street. The original Bob Bob Ricard opened in 2008 and gained fame for its distinctive "Press for Champagne" buttons, lavish interiors, and British-French fusion menu.

The closure of Bébé Bob represents a significant loss for Soho's dining scene, particularly for those seeking romantic dining experiences. Time Out has reached out to Bébé Bob for official comment regarding the closure but has not received a response at this time. The restaurant's absence leaves a noticeable gap in London's landscape of specialized, high-end dining establishments.
