Adam Thomas made a pointed reference to the 'drama' during the I'm A Celebrity final, just hours after claiming that significant portions of his explosive argument with Jimmy Bullard 'couldn't be aired'. This season of the South African spin-off has been marked by intense conflict, with the most notable blowout occurring between Adam and Jimmy.
The Heated Exchange
In the South African jungle, the pair engaged in a massive row after Jimmy uttered the words 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here', jeopardizing both their positions on the show. During the live final, Adam responded to co-host Declan Donnelly's comment that 'it certainly hasn't been short of drama this year' by saying: 'I know there was a lot of drama that went on in a lot of camp but honestly we had the best time.'
Co-host Ant McPartlin voiced what many viewers were thinking: 'It's not going to kick off, what a shame.' Little did Ant know, the tension would soon escalate further. Jimmy, who left the show voluntarily, watched from the audience as the final unfolded.
Uncensored Language
The verbal spat earlier in the season between Adam and Jimmy contained numerous expletives, but it has been claimed that even worse language was ultimately cut from the broadcast. An insider told the Daily Mail: 'Adam just completely lost it and went for Jimmy. He called him a c*** and Jimmy believes that he tried to kick him, too.'
Fellow campmate Craig Charles appeared on This Morning, claiming Adam was 'dropping f-bombs and c-bombs' and described the experience as 'traumatic'. Adam later addressed the rumours himself: 'I've seen some comments going around about things that some of my fellow campmates said during the row between me and Jimmy, and I just want to make one thing clear, I completely stand by them. Not everything was shown, and honestly, a lot of it probably couldn't be aired anyway, I'll hold my hands up to that. So I understand where they were coming from, and I respect their honesty.'
ITV's Response
ITV pushed back against claims that Adam tried to kick Jimmy, calling them 'categorically untrue' in a statement to Metro. Regarding the network's decision to cut parts of the argument, they said: 'We show an accurate and fair representation of events.' However, during the live final, Ant confirmed that there was language which simply could not be broadcast.
After Adam's final trial was shown, David Haye interjected from the audience, questioning whether Adam deserved to win despite 'calling Jimmy the c-word a couple of times'. His heckles were met with laughter from Adam and a request from Ant and Dec to postpone the discussion, assuring everyone it would be addressed properly later.
Additional Tensions
Adam's feud with Jimmy is not the only rumored conflict he has been involved in. After clashing with David about participating in trials, viewers believe they have spotted Adam being criticized by fellow finalist Harry Redknapp. During a previous episode, campmates had to catch eggs for breakfast from a fake hen. Adam was pleased after securing two at once and exclaimed: 'I caught two eggs at one time, some people might call me the eggspert.'
In an interview with The Telegraph, the former football coach appeared to take a swipe at Adam's noise levels, saying: 'Adam could have caught one in his mouth. He could have opened his gob and caught one, couldn't he? Adam.' Fans on social media noticed the tension. @putasinghonit observed: 'Harry is not happy at Adam is he, crikey.' Sandra MaryHusk asked: 'Is Harry saying that Adam got a big mouth?' while @JAli89_91 commented: 'Harry really doesn't like Adam.'
