The anonymous street artist Banksy has delivered an early Christmas surprise to the capital, confirming two new artworks that appeared in central London this week.
Banksy's Festive Return to the Capital
Following his intervention at the Royal Courts of Justice earlier in 2025 and the animal-themed series that captivated the city last summer, Banksy has made a dramatic return. The artist confirmed the works are his by posting a photograph of one piece to his official Instagram account on 23rd December 2025.
Identical Designs Pointing Skywards
Both artworks feature the same striking design: two figures lying on their backs, their fingers pointing directly upwards. The first piece appeared in a highly prominent location, right by Tottenham Court Road station, beneath the Grade II listed Centre Point building.
The second artwork was discovered several miles away, on the side of a building in Queen's Mews, Bayswater. Despite the distance, the identical style and timing left little doubt about their shared origin before Banksy's official confirmation.
Crowds Gather as Banksy Mania Hits Again
True to form, the appearance of the new works quickly drew crowds of onlookers and fans, eager to witness the latest chapter in Banksy's ongoing dialogue with the city. The piece beneath Centre Point takes on a particularly powerful meaning, with the figures seemingly pointing up at the towering skyscraper above them.
This latest double installation reinforces Banksy's status as a master of generating global attention through covert urban interventions, turning ordinary city walls into destinations for art pilgrims and sparking immediate debate about their meaning.
