Brick Lane Music Hall has unveiled its latest production for 2026, confirming the return of its popular adults-only pantomime with Jack and His Giant Stalk. The show will run from 22nd January to 7th March 2026, maintaining the venue's cherished tradition of launching its panto each January.
Award-Winning Venue Presents Twisted Classic
The announcement comes fresh off the back of the venue receiving a Special Recognition Award at the 2025 UK Pantomime Awards for its contribution to Pantomime History, Tradition and Heritage. This new production, written and directed by Lucy Hayes, promises to continue that legacy with a contemporary, tongue-in-cheek take on a classic tale, firmly rooted in the spirit of British Music Hall.
Hayes, who also penned and directed last year's Pinocchio and His Wooden Whopper and the Edinburgh Fringe success Bitter Lemons, sets this version in the fictional town of Loosebottom. The plot follows Dame Fanny and Jack Trott as they battle to avoid eviction—and a far worse fate—after the villainous Poison Ivy and the Giant's Wife secretly hike their rent to fund a holiday to Magaluf.
Star-Studded Cast and Creative Team
The production boasts a talented cast and crew. Vincent Hayes MBE, founder of the venue, takes on the role of Willy Trott. The creative team includes choreographer Jordan Langford and musical director Scott Hayes. The cast features several returning favourites and new faces:
- Andrew Robley as Dame Fanny Trott
- Josh Benson as Jack Trott, in his fifth season
- Jack Pallister as the Spirit of the Beans
- Charlotte Fage as Poison Ivy
A key comic figure is the local fairy, the Spirit of the Beans, who hilariously insists his powers grow stronger the more he drinks. The show promises larger-than-life costumes, farcical characters, and a cloud-top castle with a suspiciously familiar new turret.
More Than Just a Theatre
Brick Lane Music Hall, based in Silvertown, is the UK's only permanent venue dedicated exclusively to British Music Hall entertainment. Opened in 1992 by Vincent Hayes MBE, it combines comedy, song, and dining year-round.
The venue also has a strong charitable mission. Through the Brick Lane Music Hall Charity, established in 1996, it delivers outreach performances to care homes and hospices across the South East, ensuring the joy of music hall reaches those who cannot travel.
Jack and His Giant Stalk opens on 22nd January 2026. Tickets and further information are available via the Brick Lane Music Hall official website.
