Emmerdale Star Zoe Henry Explains Graham's Violent Attack and Jodie Connection
In a shocking turn of events on Emmerdale, Graham Foster, played by Andrew Scarborough, has returned from the dead only to face a brutal stabbing. The incident, set to air next week, sees Rhona Goskirk, portrayed by Zoe Henry, discovering Graham bloodied and bruised at Home Farm. Henry revealed in an exclusive interview that this attack is directly linked to a failed mission involving Coronation Street's Jodie Ramsey, played by Olivia Frances-Brown.
The Corriedale Crash and Jodie's Role
Earlier this year, Graham stunned viewers by reappearing after his apparent murder in 2020. He was involved in the Corriedale crash, with Jodie tied up in the back of his van. While Jodie has since proven to be a formidable character, the reasons for her captivity and the events leading up to it remain shrouded in mystery. According to Henry, Graham's recent stabbing stems from this very incident. "It transpires that this has happened because of Rhona," Henry explained. "Jodie – who was at the back of the car in the Corriedale episode – that was a job for Graham and she got away, so he failed the mission."
Rhona's Plea and Graham's Exposure
Rhona learns that Graham was attacked because she asked for his help in finding Dylan Penders a couple of days prior. Henry detailed, "He laid low and hoped that would be the end of it, but then when Dylan went missing, Rhona pleaded with him for help. In doing so, he exposed where he was, and the people he'd been working for came to find him, teaching him a lesson." This revelation places the blame squarely on Rhona, who feels responsible for Graham's injuries. Henry added, "So it's Rhona's fault – and I think that's why Rhona is glad that she's found him and she was there."
Renewed Chemistry and Moral Dilemmas
Amid the drama, Graham has repeatedly expressed his lingering love for Rhona, and it's clear she still harbors feelings for him. However, Rhona has resisted acting on these emotions to protect her marriage to Marlon. In the upcoming scenes, as Rhona tends to Graham's stab wound, their chemistry reignites. Henry described the moment: "He's been stabbed on his side, so in the physical act of trying to dress that wound, she's very close to him and she's touching his skin. I imagine in that moment it's like, bam, you're back to where you were six years ago. They were a couple, they were obviously intimate, and that proximity just brings everything back. It's risky, it's exciting, and it's also terrifying for Rhona."
Rhona's Impending Decision and Village Dynamics
Rhona will soon face a choice between Marlon and Graham. Henry reflected on Rhona's recent experiences, including the Celia and Ray storyline, which has strengthened her bond with April. "The amazing story that Amelia's just told – the whole Celia and Ray thing – has just cemented Rhona's role, not as April's mother but as close as she could ever be to Donna. I think that would be as difficult to walk away from as it would be to walk away from Marlon," Henry said. She also questioned how a potential relationship between Graham and Rhona would function in the village, noting, "I think about how would Graham and Rhona exist in that village? It feels impossible. I mean, nothing's impossible because it's soap! But I question how they'd manage that."
This development adds layers to the ongoing soap opera crossovers, with Jodie's connection to Graham hinting at deeper inter-show narratives. Fans can expect more twists as Rhona navigates her feelings and the consequences of her actions.
