Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury Undecided on Schooling for Daughter Bambi
Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury on the Fence About Bambi's Schooling

Molly-Mae Hague has openly admitted that she and partner Tommy Fury are currently "on the fence" about whether to send their three-year-old daughter, Bambi, to school. The couple, both 26 years old, welcomed Bambi in January 2023 and are now expecting their second child together.

The School Visit and Parental Concerns

In a recent YouTube video shared with her two million subscribers, Molly-Mae discussed visiting a potential school for Bambi, describing the experience as "very interesting and very eye-opening." She acknowledged that the topic of schooling is "controversial" online, but felt compelled to share their ongoing dilemma.

"We were feeling very much on the fence with schooling and school and what we're gonna do, and where we're at with it," Molly-Mae explained. "I was in the normal school system; I didn't go to private school. We're just very stuck on what we're gonna do."

Catholic School Preference and Religious Upbringing

The influencer revealed that sending Bambi to a Catholic school is "nonnegotiable" due to Tommy's religious background, though she noted such schools are "few and far between."

"He wants her to go to a Catholic school, and obviously, I support that," Molly-Mae said. "We've actually been going to church quite a bit for the last few months and try to go most Sundays... Tommy really wants it to be part of Bambi's upbringing."

The couple also plans to baptize their second child, though they haven't yet baptized Bambi because they "never got round to it."

Fear of Losing Bambi's Spark

Molly-Mae expressed deep concern about Bambi potentially "losing herself" in a school environment. "Bambi has just got so much personality, and every parent thinks their child is just so beyond special, but she has such a spark and such a brightness about her that the thought of sending her to school... I want her to just stay Bambi."

She described one visited school as "amazing" but "almost too perfect," noting that while the strict structure was positive, it raised concerns about whether it would suit Bambi's vibrant personality.

The Overwhelming Nature of the Decision

"The thought of handing your child over for five days a week to a system is kind of terrifying," Molly-Mae confessed. "And I think because we're so protective over Bambi, like, I'm protective, but Tommy's another level when it comes to Bambi, I just don't really know where our heads are at with it."

She concluded that the entire decision feels "overwhelming" and "scary," leading them to put "the brakes on" temporarily rather than succumbing to pressure to secure a school place immediately.

Previous Clashes Over Education

This isn't the first time the couple has disagreed about Bambi's education. In 2023, Tommy expressed on Netflix's At Home With The Furys that he didn't want Bambi to attend school at all, influenced by his Traveller background where family is "number one" and children often leave school early to learn traditional skills.

"Growing up the way I've grown up, I've got my morals and live my life a certain way," Tommy told cameras. "I feel like when our little girl comes along, she'll most definitely be brought up the way I've been brought up. The old-fashioned way. The right way."

At the time, Molly-Mae, who attended The Priory School in Hitchin, firmly stated that not sending their child to school was "absolutely not an option," saying, "I've been raised completely differently to that. It would never be a question that our children or our child would not go to school."

Viewer Reactions and Support

In the comments section of her YouTube video, many viewers offered support and understanding. User @pan_taloon commented that it was "so fair" to feel worried, while @lucyroscoe7624 praised Molly-Mae for "opening up a positive discussion" about the challenges of parenting decisions.

The couple continues to navigate this significant parenting decision as they prepare for the arrival of their second child, balancing Tommy's traditional upbringing values with Molly-Mae's different educational background and their shared desire to preserve Bambi's unique personality.
