Apples and kiwis recalled over salmonella fears

Thirteen fruit pot products sold at six major British retailers have been recalled due to the risk of Salmonella contamination. The affected items, containing apples and kiwis, were distributed by Prepworld and sold at Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S, Waitrose, Morrisons, and ASDA.

Products and dates affected

The recall includes a variety of fruit packs with best-before or use-by dates of June 23 or 24, 2026. Among them are ASDA Pink Lady Apple, Mango, Strawberry & Blueberry (220g), Morrisons Kiwi, Melon & Strawberries (220g), Tesco Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry (250g and 125g), Tesco Kiwi Fruit Pot (100g), Waitrose Pink Lady Apple and Grapes (115g), multiple M&S products, and several Sainsbury's items. A full list is available from the retailers.

Refund and safety advice

Shoppers who have purchased the recalled fruit are advised not to eat it and to return it to their nearest store for a full refund, even without a receipt. All stores will display notices informing customers of the recall. Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and M&S have all issued similar point-of-sale notices.
