Baby Food Recall: HiPP Organic Vegetable Lasagne Pulled for Undeclared Allergen
HiPP Organic Baby Food Recalled for Undeclared Celeriac

A vegetable baby dish sold in Sainsbury's and Boots has been pulled from shelves as it contains an undeclared allergen. HiPP Organic UK has recalled its 7+ months Vegetable Lasagne 190g jar because celeriac is not mentioned on the label. The recall was shared on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website.

Allergy Risk Details

Eating celery when you’re allergic can cause mild symptoms like mouth itching, swelling, or hives, or severe reactions such as anaphylaxis, which involves breathing difficulties and requires immediate emergency treatment. Symptoms often appear quickly, including abdominal pain, vomiting, or dizziness.

Affected Batch Information

The bad batch has a best-before date of January 31 2027 and can be identified by the code B49311. If you have bought the above product and your baby has an allergy to celery, do not feed it to them. Instead, contact HiPP Organic’s customer services team on 0800 298 4477 or at hello@hipp.co.uk for either a refund or more information. No other HiPP Organic goods are affected by the recall.

Understanding Food Recalls

Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.
