Former EastEnders actress Shana Swash has some exciting family news to celebrate; she’s expecting her second child with fiancé Nick Jones. The actress, best known to soap fans for playing Demi Miller, is also the younger sister of TV favourite Joe Swash.

She shared the happy announcement on social media with a sweet family photo that quickly won over her followers. In the black-and-white snap, Shana, 35, can be seen holding up an ultrasound image while standing alongside Nick and their young daughter, Kitty. The adorable family moment came with a caption that revealed Kitty is already getting ready for her new role in the family.

‘Kitty has accepted a new position as Big Sister. Start date: December 2026,’ the post read. The announcement was met with plenty of love from friends and fans, who rushed to the comments section to send their congratulations. Family Expansion

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Kitty Frances-Swash Jones, in December 2023, and now they’ll soon be a family of four when their newest arrival makes an appearance later this year.

EastEnders Connection

While many viewers remember Shana from her time in Albert Square, her connection to EastEnders runs deeper than most. Her older brother Joe Swash became a fan favourite after joining the BBC soap as Mickey Miller in 2003. A year later, Shana followed in his footsteps when she was cast as Mickey’s on-screen half-sister, Demi Miller. Remarkably, Shana landed the role at just 14 years old, giving viewers the unique experience of seeing real-life siblings portray family members on screen.

The pair shared several storylines together during their time on the soap, becoming part of one of Walford’s most memorable families of the mid-2000s. Shana remained with the show until 2006, while Joe continued in the role of Mickey for another two years before leaving in 2008. He later returned for brief appearances, including a comeback in 2024 as part of celebrations surrounding the programme’s milestone anniversary.

Post-EastEnders Career

After her EastEnders departure, Shana continued acting and appeared in a variety of television dramas and entertainment programmes. Over the years, she picked up guest roles in shows including Doctors, Top Boy and After You’ve Gone, while also appearing in the film Love Without Walls. She also popped up on a number of popular TV shows, including Loose Women, Your Face or Mine?, All Star Family Fortunes and spin-off programmes connected to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! alongside her brother Joe.

New Business Venture

Despite remaining connected to the entertainment world, Shana eventually decided to pursue a different path. In recent years, she stepped away from acting and focused on building a business alongside Nick. The couple launched Swash and Jones Coffee in 2021, turning a difficult period during the COVID-19 pandemic into an opportunity for a fresh start. What began as a new venture soon became a successful family business and a complete change of direction from life in front of the cameras.

Growing Family

Now, with another baby on the way, family life is set to become even busier. Shana’s growing brood joins an already large and close-knit extended family. Brother Joe is a proud father himself and shares children with wife Stacey Solomon, while also helping raise her two sons from previous relationships. Together, the family have become firm favourites with fans thanks to their candid social media updates.

With baby number two due in December, it’s shaping up to be an exciting year for Shana, Nick and soon-to-be big sister Kitty!
