A person was taken to hospital with a head injury following a crash on Streatham High Road in the early hours of Wednesday, June 24. The incident occurred on the A23 Streatham High Road southbound, between Leigham Court Road (near Streatham Hill Station) and Becmead Avenue, at approximately 1:10 am.
The London Ambulance Service confirmed that a patient was rushed to A&E with a head injury, and the extent of their injuries is still being assessed. Accident investigators are currently at the scene conducting inquiries.
Road closure and bus diversions
The road remains closed, causing significant disruption to local traffic. Several bus routes are on diversion, including the 45, 50, 57, 159, 201, 255, 319, 333, N109, N133, and N250. Commuters are advised to check for alternative routes or use other transport options.
Police investigation
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment but has not yet provided further details. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
