The family of a 60-year-old woman who died in a road collision in Gloucestershire have spoken of their heartbreak, describing her as a 'deeply loved' mother and wife.
Tragic Collision on Rural Lane
Suzanne Wilmot, from Gloucester, was driving a blue Ford when it was involved in a serious collision with a black Kia. The incident occurred on Whitehall Lane in Rudford at approximately 5.20pm on December 30, 2025.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but despite their efforts, Suzanne was pronounced dead at the location. Her family have now released a heartfelt tribute alongside her photograph.
A Family's Heartfelt Tribute
In their statement, Suzanne's loved ones said: ‘It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of Sue Wilmot. A deeply loved mum, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and great aunt.’
They highlighted her selfless and joyful nature, stating: ‘She would do anything for others and was always making us laugh. The number of family and friends who will miss her are a testament to how wonderful she was.’
The family also expressed gratitude for the time they spent with her over the recent Christmas period, saying they will ‘treasure the memories’.
Police Investigation and Appeal
A man in his 50s from Cheltenham was initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving while unfit through drink and/or drugs in connection with the crash.
He was later released under investigation to receive treatment for multiple fractures at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Gloucestershire Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing. A spokesman urged potential witnesses to come forward: ‘Investigating officers are continuing their enquiries and asking anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not already spoken to police to come forward.’
They are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam footage or other information that could assist the investigation.
