The Scottish Ambulance Service responded with six ambulances and two Special Operations Response Teams (SORT). Medical teams transported two patients to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, two to the Royal Hospital for Children, and one to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The patients included both adults and children, highlighting the severity of the multi-vehicle crash.
Road Closures and Cleanup Operations
The northbound section of the M73 was completely closed between Junction 2 at Baillieston Interchange and Junction 2A at Gartcosh Interchange following the collision. This closure remained in effect throughout the night as emergency services worked to secure the area and assist those involved.
Vehicle recovery operations continued until approximately 3:00 AM on Monday, with police subsequently requesting a sweeper to clear debris from the roadway. Traffic Scotland confirmed the motorway had been fully cleared and reopened to traffic shortly before 4:00 AM.
