A man and a woman have tragically lost their lives after a fierce fire ripped through a residential property in North London in the early hours of Friday morning.

The London Fire Brigade received an emergency call at 1:44 am on January 16, 2026, reporting a serious blaze at a property on Albemarle Road in Barnet. Firefighters rushed to the scene from the nearby stations of Barnet, Southgate, and Finchley.
