A man has tragically died following a fire at a residential property in North London. The incident occurred in the Walthamstow area in the early hours of Monday morning.
Details of the Walthamstow Fire
The fire broke out at a first-floor flat on Darndale Close, Walthamstow, at approximately 7am on Monday, December 22. Emergency services were alerted swiftly, with the London Fire Brigade receiving the call at 7.08am.
Fire crews from Walthamstow and surrounding stations were immediately mobilised to the scene. Upon arrival, they found part of the flat already damaged by the flames.
Emergency Response and Hospitalisation
One man was rescued from the property by firefighters. He was given emergency treatment at the scene before being raced to a nearby hospital Accident and Emergency department.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the man was pronounced dead on Tuesday, December 23, the day after the fire. The exact circumstances leading to his death are not yet known.
