Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found fatally stabbed in Wolverhampton in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Emergency Response on Burcot Avenue

Emergency services were called to an address on Burcot Avenue just after 3.30am on Wednesday, 25 December 2025. Paramedics attended the scene but, despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the location.

The home remains cordoned off as forensic teams conduct a detailed examination. Officers are also reviewing local CCTV footage and carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.

Two Men in Custody

West Midlands Police confirmed that two men, aged 35 and 38, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Ed Foster, who is leading the investigation, stated the force is in the early stages of its probe. He emphasised that officers are working swiftly to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.

Appeal for Information

DCI Foster issued a direct appeal to the public for assistance. He said: ‘We are carrying out quick-time enquiries including forensic examination, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. We ask anyone who may have any information about what happened to contact us.’
