Metropolitan Police have launched a major investigation after the tragic death of a one-year-old girl who came into contact with harmful chemicals at a residential property in London.
A man and woman, both aged in their 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter following the incident that occurred on Sunday evening.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Cornwall Road, Sutton, after receiving reports of a child in critical condition. Despite the efforts of paramedics and medical staff, the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
