A five-year-old girl remains in hospital in a stable condition after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a serious multi-vehicle collision on the A4067 near Craig-y-Nos, north of Ystradgynlais. The crash occurred at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday, July 5, and left five people with severe injuries.
Details of the collision
According to Dyfed-Powys Police, the collision involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland. A yellow Ford Fiesta was later identified as also being involved. Emergency services attended the scene, and the five-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening. She remains in a stable condition.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. The driver of the green Ford Fiesta, a 39-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and child neglect. The driver of the yellow Ford Fiesta, a 65-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both remain in police custody.
Police appeal for witnesses
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4067, near Craig-y-Nos, at around 5.50pm on Sunday, July 5. The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta, a black Volkswagen Polo, and a grey Vauxhall Grandland. Five people were seriously injured during the collision and taken to hospital for treatment. This included a five-year-old that was taken to hospital by air ambulance with injuries believed to be life-threatening. The child remains in hospital in a stable condition."
