London's Metropolitan Police have launched urgent public appeals to help trace two vulnerable people reported missing in separate incidents across the capital, with families expressing extreme worry amid ongoing freezing temperatures.
Search for Missing 22-Year-Old Autistic Man
A 22-year-old man named Ramel, who is autistic and non-verbal, is the subject of a major police search after he left his home in south London around 12.10am on Wednesday, 1 January. Officers from the Met say this disappearance is entirely out of character for him, heightening concerns.
Ramel is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slim build and short black afro hair. He was last seen wearing a green pyjama top. Police have warned that he is able to travel around London independently, meaning he could now be some distance from his home in Sutton.
His mother issued a heartfelt plea, stating: "We are very worried, he has not been missing this long before. We just want him home."
Leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Anselm Hartley emphasised the urgency: "Ramel is extremely vulnerable and we are increasingly concerned for his welfare. Last night was very cold and temperatures are expected to be low again tonight. It is really important that we find him, and we find him quickly."

Appeal to Find Missing 65-Year-Old Woman from Isleworth
In a separate and equally concerning case, detectives are asking for the public's help to locate Memuna, a 65-year-old woman reported missing from Isleworth in the borough of Hounslow.
Memuna was last seen leaving her home at around 10.30am on Tuesday, 30 December. She is described as 5 feet tall with short white hair. When last seen, she was wearing a pink cap, a multi-coloured jacket, green trousers, and red shoes, and was carrying a black handbag.
Police have classified Memuna as vulnerable, noting that she requires daily medication. Without it, she may become very weak. She is known to frequent the local area, including Southall High Street.
Detective Sergeant Gary Walker, from the Met's Missing Persons Unit, said: "We are increasingly concerned for Memuna's safety and urge anyone who has seen her or knows where she might be to contact us immediately."

Third Vulnerable Case Following Childbirth
These two appeals follow another recent police concern for a vulnerable woman in her 20s who left a hospital in Romford shortly after giving birth on Tuesday, 30 December. The baby remains in hospital and is in good health.
Detective Inspector Neil Godwin stressed that the search for this woman is not a criminal investigation but a welfare mission, stating the need to "locate her to make sure she is ok" and ensure she receives the right support.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that all three incidents are being treated as separate cases. The appeals underscore the force's heightened concern for vulnerable individuals during a period of severe winter weather in London.
