Summer Robert, a 25-year-old woman from Glasgow, has revealed her lifelong struggle with a rare medical condition that causes her breasts to grow uncontrollably, now measuring a staggering 28 or 30 O-cup and weighing more than four stone (25kg).
A Lifelong Burden and a Shocking Diagnosis
Summer's ordeal began in childhood. By the age of seven, she needed a B-cup bra, making her feel like "a walking boob" throughout her school years. Now standing at 4ft 9in, she has recently been diagnosed with gigantomastia, a severe form of macromastia that triggers rapid, excessive growth of breast tissue.
"In the space of a year my breasts have grown 10 sizes," Summer told Metro. Her size escalated from a 22K to approximately a 30N or 28O, with her chest weight alone accounting for over 25 kilograms.
System Failure: Pain, Harassment, and NHS Refusal
Despite the debilitating physical and psychological impact, Summer claims the NHS has repeatedly refused her a reduction surgery. The reason cited is that her Body Mass Index (BMI) exceeds the threshold for the procedure, technically categorising her as 'morbidly obese'—a measurement skewed entirely by her breast tissue.
Her youth was marred by harassment and misunderstanding. She was catcalled walking home from school, sexualised by older men, and even chastised by a teacher for her uniform not fitting. At 15, a GP dismissed her rapid growth from a B to a DD cup as "just puberty."
The constant focus on her weight led to a dangerous eating disorder. "Being told to lose weight was my final straw," she said, after receiving letters branding her as overweight. Her health deteriorated until her family intervened.
It was only at 23, after a cancer scare prompted by a lump, that a specialist agreed she needed a reduction. A referral was made, but seven months later the surgery was refused due to her BMI. "They didn't care," Summer stated.
Reclaiming Control: From Pain to Empowerment
Resigned to constant pain, Summer wears a doctor-prescribed corset daily. Simple tasks like washing up require specialised support, and activities like running are impossible. Her only relief comes from swimming, where she is weightless.
However, Summer has turned her unique circumstance into a source of empowerment and income. Known online as Scotch Dolly, she became an OnlyFans creator at 23. The move has been financially transformative; last month alone she earned £70,000.
Her perspective on public attention has shifted. "When I was younger I hated the attention but now I just think they could be a potential buyer," she explained. Her confidence has grown, and she now uses catcalls as an opportunity to promote her page.
Summer's message to other young women facing similar struggles is to focus on themselves. "Blame the clothes companies if nothing fits you, big boobs are beautiful and there's nothing wrong with your body," she asserts.
