Trump in 'Excellent' Health Despite Leg Swelling, Hand Bruising

The White House released a memo from Dr Sean Barbabella stating that President Donald Trump remains in excellent health despite experiencing lower leg swelling and benign hand bruising. The memo, dated Tuesday and released late Friday, cited results from a recent examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Health Assessment Details

According to the memo, Trump's cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function are strong. He is declared fully fit to carry out all duties of the presidency. The visit on Tuesday was his third in 13 months and fourth in his second term. Trump, who will turn 80 on June 14, is the oldest person ever elected to the White House.

Specific Findings

Dr Barbabella noted slight lower leg swelling with improvement from last year. Hand bruising was described as common and benign, consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking while taking aspirin for cardiovascular prevention. The memo did not address a skin treatment on Trump's neck in March or mention an MRI exam, which he had in October.

The president's overall cardiac function is normal. A comprehensive neurological examination showed normal mental status, including screenings for depression and anxiety. Trump's height is listed as 6ft 3in (190cm) and weight as 238lbs (108kg). Preventive counseling included guidance on diet, low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.

Trump maintained that everything checked out perfectly after his visit.
