Sarah Ferguson Proposed Marriage to Jeffrey Epstein in Released Documents
Newly disclosed documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case have revealed that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, proposed marriage to the convicted sex offender just months after his release from prison. The files, released under the Transparency Act by the US Department of Justice, contain a 2009 email where Ferguson expressed profound admiration for Epstein.
Ferguson's Intimate Correspondence with Epstein
In one particularly revealing email, Ferguson wrote to Epstein: 'You are a legend. I really don't have the words to describe my love and gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.' This correspondence occurred shortly after Epstein's 2009 release from prison, where he had served 13 months as part of a work-release programme after pleading guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution.
Additional emails from the same year show Ferguson referring to Epstein as 'the brother I have always wished for' and expressing how 'so proud' she was of him. According to the documents, Ferguson allegedly visited Epstein in Miami with her two daughters, then aged 21 and 19, during this period.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Continued Epstein Connections
The document release also contains troubling material regarding Ferguson's ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Three photographs show a man believed to be the former Duke of York:
- Crouched on all fours over a woman lying on the floor
- Staring directly into the camera in another scene
- Placing his hand on the woman's abdomen in a third image
The photographs, which show Andrew wearing a white polo shirt and jeans, have no captions and their origin remains unclear. Someone else can be seen sitting in a leopard-print chair in the background.
Contradictory Timeline of Royal-Epstein Relationship
Further documents challenge Andrew's previous claims about when he ended contact with Epstein. Despite asserting he cut ties after 2006 and only reconnected briefly in 2010 to end the relationship, an August 2010 email exchange reveals ongoing communication.
In this exchange, occurring two years after Epstein's conviction, the financier wrote: 'I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with.' Andrew, signing as 'The Duke', responded: 'Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch.'
Ongoing Royal Fallout from Epstein Associations
The latest document release adds to the significant scrutiny surrounding the British royal family's connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has faced serious allegations, which he strenuously denies, of sexually assaulting Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager trafficked by Epstein.
The publication of these documents follows:
- Andrew's 2019 stepping down from royal duties after his controversial BBC Newsnight interview
- The release of Giuffre's posthumous memoir containing further allegations
- King Charles officially stripping Andrew of his HRH style and prince title last year
Metro has contacted representatives for Sarah Ferguson regarding these latest revelations from the Epstein files. The document release continues to shed new light on the extensive network of associates maintained by the convicted sex offender before his death in a Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
