Harry and Meghan to bring children to UK next month

Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly planning to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the United Kingdom next month for the first time in four years. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will travel from California with their family to participate in events marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Children's first UK visit since 2022

Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, last saw their grandfather, King Charles III, during Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Harry had previously expressed a desire to bring his children to the UK but cited security concerns amid his ongoing legal battle over police protection. However, reports indicate that sufficient security arrangements have now been assured for the visit.

Reunion with King Charles uncertain

It remains unclear whether the King will have the opportunity to see his youngest grandchildren during their stay. The trip follows Harry's reunion with Charles in September 2025, their first meeting in 19 months, as the King continues cancer treatment. After losing a Court of Appeal challenge against the Home Office over his security in 2025, Harry told the BBC that Charles would not speak to him due to the court battle, adding he 'can't see a world' where he would bring his family back to the UK.

Ongoing family tensions

Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Harry has made various allegations against family members in his Oprah interview, Netflix documentary, and memoir Spare. He claimed Charles harbored jealousy toward Meghan and Kate, did not hug him after Princess Diana's death, and was 'never made' for single parenthood. Harry also alleged that William physically assaulted him during a dispute. The brothers remain estranged.

Invictus Games preparations

The Invictus Games for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel will be held in Birmingham from July 10-17, 2027. The Duke's spokesperson has not yet commented on the reported visit.
