Lydia Dingle Grows Suspicious of Sam's Secret Dance Lessons in Emmerdale
Lydia Dingle Suspects Sam's Secret in Emmerdale

Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) is growing increasingly concerned about her husband Sam Dingle (James Hooton) in Emmerdale, as he has been keeping a secret from her for quite some time. The secret, however, is entirely innocent and nothing to worry about. Over the past few weeks, Sam has been taking dance lessons from Ross Barton (Michael Parr) in an attempt to surprise his wife, who is a passionate ballroom and Latin dancer.

Lydia regularly attends dance classes and rehearses with other men and women because Sam had previously made it clear that he would never shake his hips in front of everyone in the middle of a Cha Cha. Unbeknownst to Lydia, this is all part of Sam's grand plan. He has been learning the basics of a two-step from Ross, who acquired his dancing skills to stay nimble on his feet during boxing matches. The pair have been practicing in barns on Emmerdale Farm and have even sneaked into Lydia's rehearsals to see what she has been up to.

However, because Sam is spending so much time on these lessons and lying to Lydia about where he goes, it is starting to cause her concern. In a new video, Sam and Ross are busy chatting about dance when Lydia walks in. She is annoyed with her husband, and it becomes apparent that Sam has missed Lydia's request for them to eat lunch together. Sam further shoots himself in the foot by telling Lydia that they cannot spend quality time together tomorrow either, without revealing that it is because he wants another lesson from Ross. This leaves Lydia feeling neglected.

A couple more days stand between now and Sam revealing his surprise, but unless he picks up on how Lydia has been feeling, the big reveal might fall flat, much like a judge giving a score of 1 on Strictly Come Dancing. The question remains: will Sam's grand plan even work?
